Hi, I’m Linda

and I see you!

Whether you’re an NHS midwife feeling crushed by burnout and moral injury, or a student midwife who’s already questioning your future in the NHS, I want you to know you’re not alone – and there’s a better way.

After more than 30 years as an NHS midwife, I know first-hand how relentless and disheartening the system can be.

I remember the exhaustion, the impossible expectations and the frustration of trying to provide compassionate, woman-centered care in an environment where time and resources were stretched too thin. It wasn’t sustainable, and it wasn’t what I dreamed of when I started my midwifery journey.

In 2018, I made the bold decision to leave the NHS and build a career on my own terms.

It wasn’t easy, but it was the best choice I ever made – for my clients, my family, and myself.

Why I Left the NHS

The NHS shaped me as a midwife, but over time, the high-pressure environment began to take a toll. Like so many midwives, I wanted to provide care that truly met women’s needs—care that made them feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Instead, I found myself bound by rigid protocols, short appointment times, and an overwhelming workload. It was heartbreaking to feel like I was constantly compromising the quality of care I gave just to keep up with the demands of the system.

If you’re feeling that same frustration, or if you’re a student who’s already questioning whether this is the future you want, I get it. It’s a hard truth to face, but it’s also the first step toward reclaiming your career.

What Independent Practice Has Given Me

When I left the NHS, I didn’t just leave behind the burnout – I rediscovered my passion for midwifery.

As an independent midwife at From Bumps 2 Babies, I now provide truly personalised, woman-centered care. With an average of only two appointments a day, I can dedicate the time and energy each family deserves.

I’ve expanded my services to include holistic techniques, birth planning, and postnatal debriefs, and I’ve found incredible fulfilment in helping families navigate one of the most transformative experiences of their lives.

The freedom to set my own schedule has been life-changing. I’ve created a balance that supports my well-being and allows me to spend more time with my loved ones, all while growing a sustainable, thriving practice.

Why I Want to Help You

I know how scary it can feel to leave the NHS, especially if you’re worried about financial security, professional isolation, or whether you’re “qualified” to run your own practice. I also know what it’s like to feel stuck—like you don’t have a choice but to stay in a system that’s draining the life out of you.

That’s why I created the Independent Midwife Success Accelerator: to help midwives like you take the leap into independence with clarity, confidence, and support.

This mentorship program is for:
● NHS midwives who feel burnt out, undervalued, and ready for a change.
● Student midwives who can already see that the NHS isn’t the right fit and want an alternative path.
● Midwives who’ve already started a self employed business, but need more structure and guidance.
● Former midwives who’ve stepped away but still long to make a difference in maternity care.

You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’ll guide you through every step of the transition – from setting up your business and navigating the legal requirements to finding clients and growing your confidence.

Leaving the NHS was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it’s also led me to the most fulfilling chapter of my career.

Now, I get to work with midwives who are ready to take control of their future – midwives like you, who know there’s a better way to care for women, families, and themselves. Together, we can create a community of empowered, independent midwives who are transforming maternity care for the better.

So, if you’re ready to break free from the burnout, take charge of your career, and rediscover the joy of midwifery, let’s get started.

Your future is waiting.
